It’s July. In most places, it’s hot. We’re tired. We want a break.

But at the back of our minds,

we know we need to keep going,

to keep pursuing what is important in life.

This month’s product review from Eternal Encouragement Magazine came just in time! Lorrie sent the Gabby Moms her top-selling product for review. There is so much information packed into it, that she asked us to split it into two reviews across July and August!

What could be her top-selling item? The 5 R’s for Godly Womanhood! Lorrie knows that some of us are more auditory ladies, and some would rather read words than sit and listen, so she has included both MP3 and PDF formats for each R in the download! This also gives you a chance to interact with the information twice, perhaps picking up something new the second time around. Lorrie’s pretty smart!

The first R is Refresh. There are two things I loved best about this R. First is the tagline:

“A woman who kneels before God

can stand before anyone.”

Sounds like something that should be posted on our mirrors or inside our kitchen cabinets!

As usual, Lorrie does not teach important ideas and leave you on your own to figure out how to implement them! She offers practical tips to make spending time with God a reality in your life, which is the second thing I loved most about this R.

Now, there are a lot of good tips in this R. You may wonder what was my absolute favorite. OK, come close. I’ll tell you: Make a retreat for yourself! Yes, a retreat.

Find a corner somewhere, find a small table (even a 3-legged plywood one  or a milk crate covered w/a cloth), and make yourself a place that you will want to visit. Have a basket for your Bible, notebook, pen/pencil, Bible study resources, etc. Bring a cup of tea or bottle of water. Light a candle. You get the idea. Doing this creates an atmosphere that makes your time with God more personal (like a visit with a friend) and important.

Now, R #2 is Rekindle. Hmmm…can you guess what it’s about? Yup. Your marriage! On the MP3, Lorrie takes over an hour to chat with you, girlfriend to girlfriend, and encourage you in strengthening your marriage. One of the most convicting statements she made was this–“When you are both hungry, do you fix your husband’s meal first?” Ouch. When I’m really hungry, I get crabby! That statement will stay in my mind for a long time! It already pops into my head when I’m fighting selfishness.

Lorrie also offers ideas women can use to make sparks fly in the romantic area of marriage. She even has come up with a solution to keep everyone happy–those who are raring to go, and those who are feeling sluggish. You’ll have to get the bundle if you want to learn more.
